Killing bad habits day#2




Hmm maybe this study was a bit to complex a subject to start this of? Hmm maybe not.

I feel like 6 hours for this unfinished piece, with the lineart process seems not that strong and kind of not anywhere near the timelimit I gave myself. 
In the end I always resort to painting.
Sensing a Bad habit here... confirmation pending :)
I think that if I want to work with this approach it would help if my line-art was stronger and more descriptive. Also I learned a lot about colors, but that was not the point of this study. I'll just say that using the color picker versus controlling the colors manually is a huge difference. 

So maybe this study was exactly right in a sense.
Even if that was in more of a failing to learn kind of way.
So for this weekend I'll come up with a plan how I can tackle all of this, a bit more structured and successfully.
It'll probably involve working on my drawing. :D

Day 21"The other Sirene" progress and rant

Hey :) Here the process of the painting. first the sketch, then basic mood, then slowly indicating light and shade, and then just back and forth adding details and setting the lights. Now, why did I think I have made a major breakthrough? Well that is because, I let go of my doubts. I mean I know I'm still not as good as I could be but it is definitively getting there. Last Friday I was at gamescom. It was amazing, a lot of fun and i got so many new impressions. It is so good to see the aftermath of what you will be creating some day and especially to meet the audience. Well I started the day pretty early at 7am to go there and I left at 7.30pm. After I came back I could barely move from the howl walking but I was so enthusiastic that I sat down and started sketching, right after I made some black tea and drank two cups. Introducing Loomic's 800day Deathline Challenge.

Hi there.  This is Mitch or Michael Loos aka Loomic. I study Communication-Design near Cologne Germany. I aim for a career in the entertainment design industry as an Illustrator,Animator and Concept-artist. In a distant future I want to produce great content like Films and Games, but first I want to work and get into the industry. Roughly eight month ago, I started the Crimson daggers Deathline challenge. My goals were essentially the following: To paint 48 paintings, to do sports and get super healthy and fit and to go on writing a chapter of my book each month. But in may last year i got RSI, because of my reckless wish to get better at any cost. It got to the point where anything I held caused sharp pain in my wrist and thumb joints. Day 200 Review

Yes so there it is 1/4 of the way. I'll now use this occasion to reflect on the past 200 days. I started out with these goals: 1# To Create a stunning diploma, that I can be proud of and that could be sold with good consciousness. (The Work within that diploma is supposed to be my portfolio). 2# To become super healthy and super fit. Which means that during these 800 days I want to do sports almost every day even if it is just 15 minutes of crunches and push-ups(weekends excluded). And to lose 25lbs for good, doing so. 3# To get a lot more organized and to work with more discipline. Looking back to the start I can't help but wonder what keeps changing my spirit. The answer is easy, its myself. Those are some strange revelations. The design Academy's workload is going insane on me. And I really hate some of these assignments, denying it is futile.  Getting it done wasn't quite as easy as i'd hoped 200 days ago, infact some of those assignments are still goin...
